The Trick to Perfectly Sharpened Pencils

Hey everyone! I’m sure you’ve had problems with sharpening some sort of eye pencil at some point in your life. It could have been an eyeliner, or a brow pencil, or a lip liner. But whatever it was, you just couldn’t sharpen it without it looking all mangled or breaking off completely. Trust me, it’s something that I dreaded for YEARS.

And yeah, you can just buy one of those retractable liners, and you can even use them in a way so that you never need to sharpen them at all, but there are so many more color options in an actual pencil and they’re often cheaper and better for the environment. And you’re going to end up with a pencil as a free gift, or something in a subscription box, or whatever, and if you’re like me you won’t want it to go to waste.

The trick… is to stick your pencil in the fridge for 5-10 minutes before sharpening it. The liner will get firmer and so will hold its shape more, which means a more precise point with so much less fuss! No broken tips, no Frankenpencils, no moments where the wood is getting sharpened but the colored center isn’t. Just a super thin, super sharp point like when you bought the pencil.
