Hi guys! It’s that time of the year where the trees are blossoming and our wallets are hurting – the spring beauty sales! Want to find out what I got at Ulta and Sephora with a 15-20% discount in the works? Read on! I’ll admit, some of this was “for the blog”.
When it comes to these sales, I generally have a few things picked out only as a working list. Which explains some of the damage below, but I did remove some things from said list instead of just add more.
Caudalie Makeup Removing Cleansing Oil and Boscia Tsubaki Cleansing Oil-Gel – I’m in need of a new cleansing oil soon, and the Sephora employee recommended these two along with one from Fresh. He helped me pick out lightweight ones since I said I liked that. Expect reviews of these in the future!
Goodal First Essence – I tried a sample of this about a year ago, and did really like it, especially for around my nose, which dries out a lot from my allergy medicine. However, as I already have an essence I like, it’s a bit unnecessary.
Skyn Icelandic Relief Eye Cream with Glacial Flower Extract- I’m always on the hunt for a new eye cream that can do more! This is supposed to help with dark circles, wrinkles, and puffiness. I’ve always had dark circles and have lately noticed some fine lines starting.
Too Faced Born This Way Foundation – I normally wear BB creams, but wanted a foundation in case I do want to wear one. I wanted something with buildable coverage and a dewier finish, and was recommended this.
Kevin Aucoin Contour Duo – I’ve seen Kathleen Lights use this contour in so many videos. I did want a single, stand-alone powder contour shade, rather than a palette or anything, as I think it’s just a waste of money and product for me and my everyday needs. The highlight is very soft and natural, which is what I normally prefer.
Smashbox Cover Shot Bold Palette – We’ve all had our rainbow makeup phase, and this just speaks to that! While I did originally want this solely for a compact, barebones, high-quality rainbow palette, the shade I was least excited about turned out to be my favorite. In the store, I didn’t even bother swatching Techno because it just looked like a pale pinky matte base shade. And instead it’s a gorgeous purple duochrome! Of course, my camera didn’t really capture it well, either.
Benefit Gimme Brow in 03 – I love this stuff! It helps fill in my brows nicely and naturally, and gives all-day staying power. It has a great teeny-tiny wand. I reviewed the old packaging here, but the updated shade range did mean that I knew which shade to get!
Kat Von D Liquid Lipstick in Lolita – I have Lolita II and decided to get Lolita I as well. I do actually prefer the pinker tone of the original, as it doesn’t look as strange with my bright red glasses (something with a more reddish tone can look a bit weird, like I’m trying to color match a bit but failing). This swatched super dark on my hand (swatched against Lolita II for comparison), but does look much better on the lips.
Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray – I really love this stuff and am running low. This helps my makeup last all day!
Make Up For Ever setting spray – On the other hand, I also like trying new products and heard a lot of positive things about this spray. I’ve only tried two setting sprays, so if there’s something that does more for me than the Urban Decay one, I do want to find it.
Let me know if you want me to review anything!
