October 2017 Empties

October 2017 Empties

Hi guys! I’m back with my latest empties! Again, I was spending all my time at work and was a lot less consistent with my skincare routine and makeup. I also got very close to finishing a lot of products this month.

As a heads-up, my blogging schedule should go back to normal soon. Work has been crazy due to tons of large deadlines all at once, and the last one that I know about and am working on is due on Friday. I’ve been keeping up with writing posts and taking pictures, but not so much with finishing the posts and hitting publish. I won’t promise anything, but I wouldn’t be surprised if I end up putting out three posts a week instead of two.

Now onto the empties!

The body products:

Philosophy Snow Angel Body Souffle: This was a gift. My aunt loves Philosophy’s scented body products and gets sets or auto-deliveries or something. This was a weirdly nearly-whipped consistency for a body cream. It seemed decently moisturizing but nothing special. The scent was light, fresh, and sweetly perfume-y. I’m not a fan. Would not repurchase.

Tuscan Hills Cherry Blossom hand cream: This is my last hand cream from a set of six. I was not a fan of any of them, as they just weren’t moisturizing at all. I’d used the first couple scents at work, as I try to use non-offensive, non-floral scents when I’m there, but these others drag along because I’d rather reach for something else when I’m at home. Would not repurchase.

The hair empties:

Garnier Whole Blends Cocoa Butter conditioner: I really like the Whole Blends line (from the conditioners and hair mask that I’ve tried so far). This is only my second favorite conditioner from the line so far, in terms of what it does to my hair. I like the Olive version a little better; however, this applies to my hair much nicer! The Olive conditioner doesn’t attach itself to my hair as nicely and I really have to work it in. Would I repurchase? Yes, in certain instances. However I do want to try the rest of the line!

The skincare empties:

Clinique Clarifying Lotion: I opened this up and the first thing I smelled was alcohol! A big no for me, as alcohol is too drying on the skin.

Dermalogica Skin Refining Masque: I don’t remember much about this, other than that there was barely enough for me to get one use from this. It’s hard to decide if I like a mask with only one use, especially at this price range. Would I repurchase? Maybe as a larger sample with five uses.

Skyn The Antidote Clarifying Lotion: This was a free sample with purchase. It has a great cooling, tingling sensation due to mint. I like using this in the morning, as it both refreshes/awakens and can help with acne, especially if I didn’t use something stronger the night before or if my skin is acting up. Would I repurchase? I already have.

Laneige Water Sleeping Mask: It seems very hydrating and plumping, but at times I would wake up and my face would feel greasy and sticky. I might just have to be more careful with using less product, though. I don’t see a ton of difference between this and a good moisturizer, but sleeping masks just seem to be fancy moisturizers. Would I repurchase? Not on its own.

Supergoop Everyday Sunscreen SPF 50: This seemed pretty good at not bunching up under makeup or at causing breakouts or clogged pores. You can’t really measure long-term preventative measures like sun protection, so I don’t really know what else to say about this. Would I repurchase? Maybe. I’m trying other sunscreens first.

Tonymoly I’m Real Seaweeds and Pureness 100 Green Tea sheet masks: I never remember what I think of sheet masks. This was my first mask from the Pureness 100 line. I loved the thicker, textured sheet!

The makeup:

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer: I love the Photo Finish Primer Oil, but in summer it’s a bit much for my skin. And this worked similarly and let my makeup last a lot longer. Would I repurchase? I have another sample size to go through, but after that I might.

The Balm Meet Matt(e) Hughes in Committed: I think it’s expired. I got through most of it, stopped wearing it in summer, and then found it very thick and drying. It wasn’t that way beforehand, and was much more comfortable. As it is so close to being finished, I decided to show it here instead of my recent declutter. I like this neutral everyday color, as I get lots of use from these shades, and the mint chocolate chip scent. Would I repurchase? No, I have more than enough lipsticks and just never shop for The Balm.

Dior Diorshow Mascara: I got this in my Sephora All-Stars box back in September. It gave more of glammed-up everyday lashes, but didn’t really build up past everyday. I do like that look, so it wasn’t a problem for me. It developed a weird smell, and I didn’t want that anywhere near my eyes. Would I repurchase? No.

That’s it for this month! I will hopefully get through more products in November, and I already know that I’m finishing off several things. And a couple of these should also be full-sized products, too!
