February Empties

February Empties

Hi guys! For some reason, February seemed to take forever. I think it just felt like an extension of January, not a full month on its own. But I managed to get through plenty of products again this month!

The hair:

L’Oreal Extraordinary Clay Dry Shampoo: Not a fan of this. I ran out of dry shampoo and decided to try this. I needed to use a lot of product to get any effect with absorbing oil, and so obviously there was a ton of product build-up on my scalp because of it. I’d wash my hair and still feel the dry shampoo on my scalp.
Would I repurchase? No.

Beauty Protector Protect & Oil: Another product I’m not a fan of! Its claims aren’t what I’m looking for in an oil, and it didn’t deliver anything that I do like. It didn’t properly hydrate or soften my hair and did only an okay job of helping with frizz.
Would I repurchase? No.

L’Oreal Feria Power Shimmer Conditioner: I got this with some hair dye (which I didn’t include in my empties post back when I actually used it). A lot of these dye conditioners feel the same and it didn’t do much for my hair. The dye itself wasn’t quite the color I wanted (I’ll go red or I’ll go dark, but I didn’t like the look of both at once) but part of it faded, leaving me a much better color that has stuck around some.
Would I repurchase? Not this individual dye color, but maybe something else in the line! No to the conditioner on its own.

The body:

Gold Bond Ultimate Healing Hand Cream: This is my favorite hand cream for work. It has a light, unobtrusive scent and is deeply hydrating so I don’t have to apply over and over again throughout the day.
Would I repurchase? I already have!

Neutrogena Acne Body Wash: Way back in the day, I used this once or twice, and for some reason I decided to try this again. I might have run out of my normal acne soap, but I order it from Amazon and have Prime so… This didn’t seem to do a good job with the acne, like the last time I’d used it.
Would I repurchase? No.

Up&UP Premium Cotton Rounds: I love the basic cotton rounds from Up&Up (from Target) as they’re just very consistent. Other stores could never seem to keep the same brands, styles, or number count in stock. They’re inexpensive, as well! So at one point, I decided to try the premium cotton rounds instead, and they’re softer than the basic ones!

The skincare:

Boscia Tsubaki Cleansing Oil-Gel: FINALLY! Back in October, I had about a half-inch of product at the bottom of the bottle, and I thought it would take me a month to go through. And it took three to get through it all! I’ve talked about this a lot(review here), and it’s just not for me.
Would I repurchase? No.

Murad Clarifying Cleanser: Loved this! I have dry but acne-prone skin, and most acne cleansers just strip my skin. This is the second one I’ve found that is gentle enough for me, along with the Mario Badescu Acne Facial Wash. It does lather some and includes something like menthol for a refreshing feeling.
Would I repurchase? Yes.

Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Mild: This was an okay cleanser. It wasn’t stripping, but Clinique is just not a brand I care for and it’s not anything special.
Would I repurchase? No.

The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalizing Facial Oil: I really enjoyed this face oil. It included argan oil, something I love for my skin!
Would I repurchase? Maybe.

Milk Makeup Sunshine Oil: Why make an oil into a rollerball formula? The rollerball irritated my skin somehow, so I’d have to roll it on my fingers and apply it that way. This included some sort of citrus, which I wasn’t a fan of scent-wise.
Would I repurchase? No.

Dr. Jart Tiger Grass Cream: I loved this stuff. It was deeply moisturizing and pretty soothing as well, perfect for this one dry, flaky, irritated patch I had on my chin. A couple times it seemed to irritate my skin a little more instead of sooth it.
Would I repurchase? I already did.

Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb: Part of my Project Pan. I thought there was way more product in here than there was. The packaging is just super thick! The formula is more watery and less moisturizing than I prefer; however, the thicker gel formula is still way better than many I’ve tried.
Would I repurchase? No.

The makeup:

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Beso: My favorite red! There’s still undoubtedly some product I could still use up, but the doefoot wand doesn’t deposit enough product and goes on streaky.
Would I repurchase? I already have.

Elizabeth Mott It’s So Big Mascara: This felt incredibly dry and didn’t seem to coat my lashes well because of that. I needed to go over my lashes again and again to get the right effect. I did own this mascara for over a year before I opened it, so that could have contributed to the drying effect. The wand reminds me of the Too Faced Better than Sex.
Would I repurchase? No. I’m picky with mascara.

Overall, I’m pretty proud of my empties this month! I’m also very excited to have finished off some Birchbox and Ipsy products, as the few products I still have are pretty old.
