July/August Empties

July/August Empties

Hi guys! I kept on being lazy about getting my empties photo off my SD card throughout the entirety of August, so I added in August’s empties as well. And I went through a ton each month!

The body:

Soap & Glory The Scrub of your Life: I loved the scent of this, especially for the shower! It felt like such a pamper session. That said, not a great scrub, just kind of decent. I would like getting this as the body wash, but I have enough body wash and soap to last at least a year.
Would I repurchase? No.

Q-Tips: No idea where to stick this. But I always buy name brand Q Tips, especially since they’re better for more crafting purposes.
Would I repurchase? Already did.

Up & Up Basic Cotton Rounds: I like these and they get the job done. Target is super consistent with these – plenty of other stores always seem to have different kinds of cotton rounds.
Would I repurchase? Yes.

The hair:

Maple Holistics Sage Shampoo: I’ve been having a problem with an itchy scalp and some dandruff lately, and I had figured it was from my shampoo. I decided to try this shampoo, as it helps fight dandruff from both a dry scalp and from product buildup. I also wanted a more natural, sulfate-free shampoo. And this did really help!
Would I repurchase? I already did!

Marajo Nourishing Cleansing Creme: I actually thought this was a conditioner sample when I went to use it, so I washed my hair and then opened it up in the shower. I rewashed my hair as the “repeat” step but it was hard to tell what I thought of it since my hair was already pretty clean. I used the entire package as well, since I use that much conditioner.
Would I repurchase? No. I finally am getting my hair/scalp back to normal and don’t want to try this again.

The skincare samples:

Boscia Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil: This was a decent oil cleanser. There’s a slight minty feel, which felt okay. It didn’t remove my eye makeup well, but I might have been a bit more cautious around my eyes because of the mint. I felt like I used this up very quickly and needed a lot of product. It did have a slightly thicker consistency, which usually makes me want to use a bit more product.
Would I repurchase? Probably not.

SK-II Facial Treatment Essence: This didn’t seem as good as the first time I used it. I didn’t really like how this applied – it’s just very watery. Even before, I feel like I didn’t notice much effects but rather I noticed how it made my other skincare products apply. Didn’t get much of that.
Would I repurchase? No.

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum: this was a nice, milky serum. It worked well with some of my other skincare products but not all. I wasn’t super impressed by it, either – the serum didn’t really impress me with anything. It just seemed to give my skin more hydration and a silky feel.
Would I repurchase? No.

Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil: A very nice face oil! I’ve been looking around for a morning face oil as the ones I have and love are all specifically for night and don’t wear as well under makeup.
Would I repurchase? Maybe. I can get a similar argan oil for way less money.

The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil: This was also a very nice oil. I’m pretty bad at describing oils, other than the texture.
Would I repurchase? Maybe.

The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Eye Cream-Gel: Another good product! This eye cream is a bit lighter than my normal eye cream, so it’s really nice in summer!
Would I repurchase? Maybe next summer.

AmorePacific Moisture Bound Rejuvenating Cream: I feel like I’ve been around skincare enough and have learned enough that “swanky luxury brand” with scented products isn’t always great. This did seem just kind of like a so-so moisturizer, but I can’t tell if it was actually not that great or if I was overly harsh. I also didn’t really care for the scent.
Would I repurchase? No.

Belif The True Cream – Aqua Bomb: I’ve used this before and didn’t really care for it, so tried it in summer (especially a larger size that I had in my Project Pan). This definitely was a lot better in summer.
Would I repurchase? No. I still have another sample and would probably get more samples in other places.

GlamGlow Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer: I am finally done this thing! It smells like orange cold medicine, and it’s the driest moisturizer I’ve come across. Two hours after applying, my face is bone dry. I had to apply this over other moisturizers to finish this off.
Would I repurchase? Hell no.

Supergoop Everyday Sunscreen SPF 50: My current sunscreen was irritating my skin so I dug around for this sample. I’ve used it before and enjoy it.
Would I repurchase? I already have!

The full-size skincare:

Dermalogica Precleanse and Precleanse Balm: See my review/comparison here. I used these both up within two weeks of each other – I had no idea I was using them so evenly. Especially since they came with different amounts of product.
Would I repurchase? Maybe the original Precleanse.

Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes: These are the first wipes that I actually liked. Removed makeup way better than any other wipes I used, weren’t scratchy or rough, and I didn’t need to press extremely hard on my skin or anything. I use makeup remover wipes mostly for arm swatches, but I like the possibility of removing my face makeup as well.
Would I repurchase? I already did!

Goodal Waterest First Essence: I had a sample of this and liked it, but I didn’t like the full size as much. It’s just not as hydrating as another one I have. This is also apparently an anti-aging product, which I hadn’t known about until like two months into using this. It’s also a bit thicker for a watery product.
Would I repurchase? No.

Skinfood Peach Sake Emulsion: Part of my Project Pan! I started out really liking this as an incredibly thin, lightweight moisturizer that I could wear on its own or pair with other things. It also smells really great like peaches. But… at some point I looked up the ingredients and noticed rubbing alcohol high up on the product list, and this past year my skin has been pretty dry so it didn’t seem as effective. Also I love how gorgeous the packaging looks, but it’s a bit hard getting product out of this glass bottle.
Would I repurchase? No.

The makeup:

Urban Decay Optical Illusion Complexion Primer: This wasn’t my favorite primer. It’s smoothing and pore-filling, with a silicone-y feel. I don’t really feel the need to use this kind of primer much. It does feel a lot better than Benefit Porefessional.
Would I repurchase? No.

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer: Another primer I didn’t really like. This seemed to draw attention to my pores and made things feel a little slick.
Would I repurchase? No.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion: The never-ending product! I love this stuff, but you just don’t need a lot and there’s a ton of product in here. My shadow doesn’t fade or crease throughout the day.
Would I repurchase? Yes.

Dr. Jart BB cream: I’ve ahd this before and it’s just got this weird gray tone to it. I mixed in other BB creams to make it wearable.
Would I repurchase? No.

Benefit Gimme Brow in 3: Read an old review here (from 2015). I really love Gimme Brow. Some of the magic is in the brush/wand. It’s just so small and so dense that it’s incredibly easy to use without getting messy.
Would I repurchase? I just did (and btw they expanded the shade range from 3 shades to like 8 shades, so I now got shade #4).

Cherry Chapstick: an oldie but a goodie for sure! Pretty effective, especially for the price.
Would I repurchase? Yes.

Make Up For Ever O2 Mist & Fix Setting Spray: I used up this entire thing and feel like I should have thoughts on this, but I don’t. I don’t know what to think of this.
Would I repurchase? No.

The fragrance:

Chloe by Chloe: Something about this scent smelled almost off. Like all of the notes come together well, except for one thing that’s just too strong and funky. I think it could be the citrus being a bit too powerful, but in fragrances like this it could also be that I don’t really like the floral note.

You can tell that I definitely had and went through a lot, both months! I’m excited by the amount of stuff I went through!
